NSBE Spring End Zone Summit

The Spring End Zone Summit, a mini conference for the National Society of Black Engineers will be held on February 7th & 8th this year. The theme is Legacy: Engineering Your Furture and throughout the conference there will be workshops, speeches, and activities for professional development. The Pitt Mobile Science Lab will attend on Saturday, February 7th to host a long program on regenerative medicine. Students will learn about biodegradable nerve guides and have the opportunity to build a guide. Our program will run in two slots, one from 1-2pm and the second from 2-3pm.

Be sure you don’t miss out on the last Pitt Science Outreach tailgate event of the season! We have teamed up with the Electric Power Systems Lab to host an awesome program on electricity. Take a spin on one of the bicycle generators and see how long it takes you to light the bulb. Ramp up the excitement and challenge someone to a race of ‘who can light the bulb the fastest’! Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30pm. Stop by the Mobile Lab anytime between 12:00pm and kickoff.  Hail to Pitt!

National Society of Black Engineers Fall Regional Conference

The Pitt Science Outreach Team is pleased to attend this year's NSBE Fall Regional II Conference right here in Pittsburgh! We'll be hosting a program on human genetics. Participants will prepare an agarose gel and learn how to use micro-pipets. Science Rocks!
